Dr. Amar Dhillon

Dr. Dhillon grew up in Surrey, British Columbia. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology from Simon Fraser University. Dr. Dhillon then attended University of Alabama for his Doctor of Optometry and graduated with honors in 2016. His clinical training consisted of externships at joint optometry-ophthalmology clinics where he diagnosed and managed ocular conditions such as dry eye, glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration. After practicing in rural Alberta he returned to BC and currently practices in Penticton providing comprehensive and compassionate eye care to all patients. In his free time, Dr. Dhillon enjoys biking, exercising, golf, and tennis.

Dr. David Friesen

Dr. Friesen was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta. He attended the University of Alberta, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2007. He proceeded to Chicago, where he completed his Doctor of Optometry at the Illinois College of Optometry. His clinical externships included Advanced Care at the University of Kentucky, McCormick Vision Source in Texas, Pediatrics and Low Vision at the Illinois College of Optometry, and Primary Care at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Michigan. Dr. Friesen has been providing eyecare in Abbotsford and Chilliwack over the past three years. In his free time, he enjoys many sports and exploring the B.C. outdoors.

Dr. Monica Baradi

Dr. Monica Baradi grew up in Edmonton, Alberta where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Alberta. She then moved down to the beautiful (and significantly warmer) Pacific Northwest and obtained her Doctor of Optometry at Pacific University in Oregon. Dr. Baradi is very passionate about outreach and volunteerism. During her time as a student, she served as the President of AMIGOS Eye Care, which is the Pacific University chapter of the Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity. Through this non-profit organization, she travelled to Senegal, Africa and rural Guatemala to participate in service trips and provide care to people in underserved communities. Her interest in global health has only continued to grow since her time as a student, and she is excited for future travels and outreach work in new countries throughout her life. In her final year of training, Dr. Baradi worked in various optometric settings, which provided her with clinical experience in specialties such as ocular disease, binocular vision, geriatrics and refractive and cataract surgery. Outside of optometry, she enjoys exploring the outdoors, hiking in the mountains and spending time with her family and friends.

Dr. Shoujun Chen

Dr. Chen attended the University of British Columbia where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Immunology. He then studied at the University of Waterloo and graduated with a Doctorate in Optometry with Dean's Honour. Dr. Chen practices all scopes of optometry and has a passion for dry eyes management. Dr. Chen has spent time living in China and Japan and can consult in Mandarin and Japanese. In his time off, Dr. Chen loves to spend time with his family and friends.

Dr. Vincent Wu

Job Titles:

Dr. Wu enjoys offering primary eye care to patients of all ages. He grew up in Toronto where he earned an Honours Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Toronto. He then earned a Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Waterloo School of Optometry and Vision Science. Dr. Wu has a special interest in myopia control. Since myopia is highly prevalent in Asia, Dr. Wu completed his primary care externship at the Polytechnic University in Hong Kong. He further advanced his knowledge and skills for treating ocular diseases at the prestigious Jack C. Montgomery Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Muskogee, Oklahoma. As well, he went on a voluntary mission trip in 2012 offering vision care to the underprivileged in Ecuador.
