Jane Serene Raskin

Jane Serene Raskin was born in Indiana, Pennsylvania. She received her undergraduate degree from Wellesley College and her law degree, cum laude, from Boston College Law School. Ms. Raskin began her legal career with the Boston law firm Bingham, Dana & Gould (the former Bingham McCutcheon). In 1983, she joined the Department of Justice as a trial attorney with the Organized Crime and Racketeering Section's Boston Strike Force. After three years of investigating and prosecuting major organized crime cases, including the nine-month trial and conviction of the underboss of the New England mafia, Ms. Raskin was appointed Counsel to the Assistant Attorney General of the Criminal Division in Washington, D.C., where she advised on sensitive cases, policy, and assisted in the supervision of criminal investigations and prosecutions nationwide. She later served as First Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Massachusetts. Upon completion of her service in the Justice Department, Ms. Raskin joined Hale & Dorr (now WilmerHale) as a litigation partner in the firm's Washington, D.C. office. She met her future husband and law partner, Martin Raskin, while she was delivering a lecture at the ABA National Institute on White Collar Crime in New Orleans, Louisiana. The two married in 1990 and, shortly thereafter, joined forces as Raskin & Raskin. Ms. Raskin's practice embraces a wide array of white collar criminal matters and related administrative and civil actions. She has extensive experience in health care fraud, mortgage fraud, securities enforcement and internal corporate investigations.

Martin Raskin

Martin Raskin graduated from Seton Hall University School of Law, where he was a member and executive editor of the Seton Hall Law Review. Upon graduation, Mr. Raskin served a judicial clerkship with the chief judge of the United States District Court for New Jersey. Thereafter, Mr. Raskin held various positions within the United States Department of Justice, including Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey; Special Attorney with the Organized Crime and Racketeering Section assigned to the Miami Strike Force; and Chief of the Criminal Division for the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Florida. After leaving the government for private practice, Mr. Raskin joined forces with his former Justice Department colleague, Donald Graham, and practiced for eight years as Raskin & Graham. When Mr. Graham was appointed to the federal bench, Mr. Raskin joined forces with his wife, Jane Serene Raskin, to form Raskin & Raskin.
