Dr. Elliot B. Sambol was born and raised in Lakewood, New Jersey. After graduating as valedictorian of his high school class, Dr. Sambol went on to the University of Pennsylvania where he majored in neurobiology and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude. Dr. Sambol returned to NJ in 1996 where he attended UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School. While at UMDNJ, he was elected into to the Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society which recognizes the top 10% of graduating physicians.
After receiving his medical degree, Dr. Sambol went on to NYU Medical Center in New York City for a 5 year General Surgery residency. Dr. Sambol spent two additional years performing basic science surgical research at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Upon completion of his general surgical training, Dr. Sambol went on to a 2 year fellowship in Vascular/ Endovascular Surgery at New York Presbyterian Hospital, which is the main teaching hospital for both the Cornell and Columbia medical schools. Dr. Sambol is currently double board certified in both Vascular Surgery and General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery and he has RPVI credentials for Vascular Lab studies (Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation).
Dr. Sambol's main interests and expertise are in the practice of endovascular surgery and open vascular surgery. His training in New York has provided him with cutting edge techniques to perform minimally invasive surgery for even the most complex vascular conditions. Specifically, Dr. Sambol performs endovascular procedures for the treatment of arterial disease including PAD, aneurysms, and carotid stenosis. He also specializes in the treatment of venous disorders including deep venous thrombosis (DVT), varicose veins, chronic venous insufficiency, spider veins, and leg swelling. Dr. Sambol uses radiofrequency (RF) technology to treat varicose veins using the Venefit procedure (formally known as VNUS Closure). He joined Princeton Surgical Associates in 2009 and has been a partner since 2012.

Dr. Elsa Marisol Pichardo is a board-certified general surgeon. She specializes in both benign and malignant hepatobiliary and pancreatic disease and surgery. Dr. Pichardo has extensive training in liver tumors, liver cysts, gallbladder disease, gallbladder cancer, pancreatitis, pancreatic cysts, and pancreatic cancer. Dr. Pichardo practices both minimally invasive and open surgical approaches.
In addition to her compassionate surgical oncology practice, Dr. Pichardo also has a very active practice in benign general surgery disease, including repair of several different types of hernias and removal of masses or growths in the skin, fat and muscle. She performs several different types of surgical biopsies. She performs surgery in both a hospital setting as well as an outpatient surgical center. She strives to have the best outcome for her patients and aim for quick recovery to get her patients back to a healthy state.
Dr. Pichardo graduated with high honors from Rutgers University in 2004. She obtained a Doctorate of Medicine at Columbia University, College of Physician and Surgeons, New York, NY in 2009. She then completed her general surgery residency training at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, Rutgers University, where she was awarded multiple recognition, including the John H. Landor teaching award. Dr. Pichardo then completed a two-year complex Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery Fellowship at Oregon Health and Science University.Her research efforts regarding liver disease have been published in scientific journals for nearly a decade. She has presented at multiple academic meetings and conferences both nationally and internationally. She has completed certification in fundamentals of laparoscopic surgery and received Americas Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association (AHPBA) accreditation in hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery. She is a member of multiple surgical societies including the American College of Surgery, AHPBA, and IHPBA.
A native of Central New Jersey, Dr. Pichardo is committed to providing surgical and oncological care to her local community. She is fluent in Spanish and her interests outside of medicine include spending time with her family and cooking.

Dr. Kenneth A. Goldman was born and raised in New York and attended Cornell University, graduating with distinction in 1984. He attended New York University Medical School, receiving his medical degree in 1988. He remained at New York University-Bellevue Hospital Center for his internship and residency in General Surgery. This was followed by a Fellowship in Vascular Surgery also at NYU Medical Center. During this time, he served as Clinical Instructor in Surgery at NYU Hospital and Assistant Attending Surgeon for General and Trauma Surgery at Bellevue Hospital. Upon completion of his subspecialty training in vascular surgery, Dr. Goldman joined Princeton Surgical Associates in 1994.
Dr. Goldman is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is double board-certified by the American Board of Surgery in both General and Vascular Surgery. He is a Registered Vascular Technologist and is Medical Director of the Princeton Surgical Associates Noninvasive Vascular Laboratories. Dr. Goldman is a member of the Society for Vascular Surgery, the Peripheral Vascular Surgery Society and the Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery.
Dr. Goldman has a particular interest in carotid artery disease and has been involved in clinical research examining carotid artery endarterectomy as well as serving as the principal investigator in an NIH-supported carotid study. A great deal of his practice involves the treatment of venous disease, including the most up-to-date methods of minimally invasive varicose vein surgery. Dr. Goldman has one of the largest experiences, in the region, with the Venefit procedure and he serves as a clinical instructor for the Medtronic company, teaching this procedure to other physicians.
Dr. Goldman serves as Trustee on the UMCPP Hospital Board and the Hospital Ambulatory Surgery Center. He currently is the President of Princeton Surgical Associates. Dr. Goldman is an Assistant Professor in Surgery at the Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and is Assistant Site Director for Surgical Training.
Dr. Goldman has been named Top Doctor in Vascular Surgery by Castle Connolly for many years. He has also been named Top Doctor in Vascular Surgery by New Jersey Monthly magazine and U.S. News and World Report. He lives in Princeton with his wife Michelle and their three children.

Dr. Liam R. Smith was born and raised in Bel Air, MD. He attended Hamilton College, graduating in 2000 with a degree in Biochemistry. He then moved to Baltimore, MD, performing basic science research at The Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health as well as the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, earning a Master of Science degree in Biochemistry. He then moved to Norfolk, VA to attend Eastern Virginia Medical School.
After earning his medical degree in 2007, Dr. Smith stayed in Norfolk and completed a 5-year residency in General Surgery at Eastern Virginia Medical School. He then moved on to the Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, PA to complete a residency in Colon and Rectal Surgery. During training Dr. Smith presented research at national meetings, earning both local and national awards.
Dr. Smith's interests and expertise are in the diagnosis, management and surgery of the colon, rectum and anus. He has particular interest and training in minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery, complex ano-rectal disease, cancer of the colon and rectum and the surgical management of inflammatory bowel disease. Dr. Nisha S. Dhir was born in India and moved to the United States with her family at the age of six. She was raised in the Philadelphia area, obtaining her undergraduate education at Temple University, graduating Summa Cum Laude. She attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, receiving her medical degree in 1993. She completed her internship and residency in General Surgery in 1998 from the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City.
Dr. Dhir remained in New York City as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Mount Sinai. She was also a Surgical Attending at Elmhurst Hospital Center in Queens and the Director of the Elmhurst Hospital Breast Center for five years before joining Princeton Surgical Associates in 2004. She joined this practice highly qualified in all aspects of general surgery including oncologic, gastrointestinal, anorectal, colorectal, advanced laparoscopic and breast surgery.
Dr. Dhir is board certified in General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. She continues to teach medical students and residents as Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery through the Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School program at the University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro. She is a member of both the American Medical Association and the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons.
Dr Dhir is the first and only general surgeon to have gained extensive experience using the da Vinci Robot at Princeton. The robotic platform allows complex intra-abdominal surgeries to be performed using a minimally invasively approach with greater precision and dexterity due to the da Vinci's magnification, 3D visualization and articulated instrumentation, a feature which reproduces what only a human hand can do. She has one of the largest experiences in robotic laparoscopic general surgery procedures in New Jersey. This includes robotic laparoscopic hernia repair (including complex recurrent, incisional, ventral and inguinal hernias), single site cholecystectomies, surgery for hiatal hernias and gastroesophageal reflux disease - GERD, colon resections for diverticulitis, polyps and cancer, adrenalectomy, and gastrectomy.

Dr. Davidov is an expert general surgeon who has trained many surgical residents not only with hernia, gallbladder, thyroid, and parathyroid surgery, but also with other minimally invasive surgery techniques, robotic surgery, surgery of the colon, small bowel, appendix, stomach, pancreas, spleen, and adrenal, as well as other complex abdominal surgery, emergency surgery, and trauma. Dr. Tomer Davidov is a general and endocrine surgeon. He was raised in New York City where he graduated from the Bronx High School of Science. He completed the accelerated 7-year B.A.-M.D. medical program at Boston University and Boston University School of Medicine where he was selected as a Trustee Scholar and graduated with honors. Dr. Davidov completed his 6-year general surgery residency at Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (formerly the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey) including his chief residency year in 2006. He was the recipient of multiple academic, humanism, and teaching awards and was voted as "Resident of the Year". He then completed a year of surgical fellowship training at the abdominal organ transplant program at Columbia University - Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. He was recruited back to the Department of Surgery at Rutgers where he spent his first 11 years in academic practice as a general and endocrine surgeon. He was recruited to Penn Medicine - Princeton Medical Center in 2018 to grow the endocrine surgery, hernia surgery, and the general surgery program. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Surgery, Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (ACS), and member of the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons (AAES), the American Hernia Society (AHS), and the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Medical Honor Society, and is a grant review for the National Science Foundation.

Dr. Lawrence J. Jordan, a son of physicians, was born in Philadelphia and raised in Philadelphia and Abington, Pennsylvania. He graduated with honors from Abington High School in l975 and completed his Bachelor of Science degree, with distinction, from Cornell University, College of Engineering, in l979. Dr. Jordan moved to New York City where he earned his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College in l983, and completed his surgical residency at Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital in New York City in l988.
Upon completion of his surgical residency, Dr. Jordan became an attending physician at the Medical Center at Princeton and a Clinical Instructor of Surgery at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Dr. Jordan became a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons in l991 and is board certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery. He is also a member of the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
Dr. Jordan specializes in general, oncologic, laparoscopic, and endoscopic surgical procedures. This includes laparoscopic hernia repairs using modern mesh techniques, component separation techniques, and laparoscopic hiatal hernia repairs. Laparoscopic colon surgery was introduced to Princeton in the 1990's by Dr. Jordan in conjunction with Dr. Davison. In addition to doing endoscopic polypectomies and balloon dilitation of colon strictures, he also frequently treats diverticulitis and colon cancers with modern laparoscopic operations that shorten recovery time and involve minimally invasive surgery.
