COMBERS - Key Persons
Job Titles:
- Director
- Director of Combers Outside - in Academy
Cameron Willetts, Director of Combers Outside-In Academy having earned his stripes as an apprentice, is now continuing to learn new skills by being mentored by the best hairdressers London has to offer as well as working alongside the tribe of hairdressers at Combers Inside-Out.
Much of 2019 saw Cameron being mentored by Adam Reed and assisting him on Fashion shoots, London Fashion Week, X Factor and GHD events. Cameron explains it this way, "Increasing my exposure to new thinking and diverse ideas and inspiration is important to me as my intention is to artistically lead, motivate, inspire, teach and influence hairdressers myself, sharing in the same way others have with me."
2020 started very well for Cameron being mentored in Italy for 5 days, by North America's Colourist of the Year, Roch Lemay, from Montreal. This was a week for invited Master Colourists from USA, Canada and Germany, to learn from a colour genius, so for Cameron to be mentored in this esteemed company was an honour.
He has already been invited to work in the US and working on a Combers' international exchange programme with several salons.
Cam said "this is the highlight of my career so far. I was encouraged to reflect on my working skills from inside out, which are coincidently the Combers' way, hence our unique brand of ‘Inside Out Hairdressing".
This unique opportunity took place in the Davines Sustainable Village in Parma, Italy, where Davines Scientists also shared their knowledge and skills. This experience has enabled Cam to master any hair colouring challenge he may encounter and enhance his expertise as a Master Colourist. "What I have learnt in just five days is as remarkable as it was unique. A completely new approach that even I could not have imagined, and cannot wait to share with our team and my guests".
" I now have the knowledge and skill to match my energy, having developed my own unique colour signature and bespoke hair cutting style for my guest. This and an insatiable thirst for more knowledge, working with a beautiful team who support each other inside and out, working in the best salon in the South West, I am certainly enjoying life"
2021 Cameron succeeded in winning himself a place on the 'Clubstar' Team for the prestigious Hair Fellowship of Great Britain. Just one of 8 members he has had a year of mentoring from the best in the business once a month culminating in a final fashion show and photo shoot.
End of 2021 for 2022 He is applied and was accepted on the Project X team for the Fellowship which is next level up and is working with a new team and with even more exciting mentors building on his ever-increasing skills and talent. After the first Month he was invited to work on New York Fashion Week which he was pleased to accept.....Learning new ideas and being able to bring them back to Taunton and share with his teammates and his guests behind the chair, and practising the art of difference-making, is what makes Cameron tick......"2022 is shaping up to be the best year yet. "
Demi is my full name and the formal interpretation of the word demi is "half". However, there are no half measures with me!
Hairdressing is not a job to me and the people I choose to work with at Combers are wonderful people. I say choose as I am an Independent Hairdresser and Combers and I choose to work together, because it works for both of us. We as a Team have a mutual respect for each other and our shared differences impact on how I feel and communicate with my guests. I have worked with Combers since 2013.
I love life and when I'm not in cutting, colouring and styling hair I am in the gym ……. Some say I'm obsessive, but I guess there could be worse things to be obsessive about.
Growing up I've always been fascinated by hair. With my Mum being a hairdresser it taught me a lot. She was mobile so I was always amazed and switched on to what she was doing and why she was doing it. I was fascinated how a cut and colour changed the way the world sees you and was keen for her to experiment on me.
Even when I was younger I was always the one to cut a fringe on a friend and put various colours on. That's how I knew this was the career path for me. I feel very passionate about hair and growing my hair portfolio.
I started my Combers' journey as a Saturday assistant and other days completing my level 2/3 qualifications at college. I love to learn and share ideas with other stylists in the salon. Nothing is better than being part of the Combers' Team.
I am now an Independent Stylist, giving me more freedom to work more hours when I choose. I'm enjoying every moment and I feel privileged that people come in to see me and go away with a smile on their face. Others have described me as a determined, hard-working, thoughtful and cheerful person - I guess they are right!
I love meeting new people and look forward to looking after your hair needs.
Hi there! I'm Paige Emerick, and I'm thrilled to be starting my journey as a professional hairdresser at the Combers Outside-In Academy and contribute in making a difference for guests attending our salon Combers Inside-Out. Born in Somerset, I've moved around quite a bit with my family before finally settling in Wellington in 2019, and attended Wellington School where completed my secondary education.
I absolutely love it here in the foothills of the Black down hills, especially the beautiful walks and abundant wildlife. As a huge animal lover, I adore spending time with my whippet, Olive, my rabbit, and my chickens. My love for animals even led me to work at a local stables, as horses are another one of my passions.
I see myself as a highly creative person with a big imagination, which is why I enjoyed art and drama so much during secondary school. My decision to pursue a hairdressing apprenticeship was inspired by the confidence boost I always feel after a visit to the hairdresser. I love experimenting with my hair, whether it's a new cut or a bold colour, and I want to give that same amazing feeling to my clients. Helping someone leave the salon feeling better about themselves than when they walked is the best feeling and making a difference everyday is not only my ultimate goal, but my new mantra for the path of a successful and sustainable career.
I am incredibly proud to have been part of the prestigious Combers 14-16 Club for the past year while still in secondary school. This incredible opportunity allowed me to work alongside talented professionals and gain invaluable hands-on experience. Now, as I transition from the academy to a full-fledged stylist, I am more excited than ever to bring my skills and creativity to Combers Inside-Out.
My name is Sonia and I work within the Front of House Guest Services team at Combers. I am of Czech origin but spent a lot of time in Valencia, Spain, as a young child as that is where my mother was from. I speak Spanish but I only know a few words in Czech.
I love working at Combers as it's a happy place to be. I am hard-working and very passionate about my job. I would describe myself as an open, honest person who tries to be fair in everything I do.
As part of my job, I enjoy meeting new people and have excellent communication skills when dealing with the public. In the past, I have worked in the beauty industry and as a stylist for weddings, and styling women for elaborate occasions.
