Anna Stuart - Chairman

Anna was elected as Chairperson at the Board of Management meeting on 31st January 2024. Anna was elected as Vice Chairperson at the AGM in September 2020. Anna was previously the Chairperson and stood down at the AGM in August 2019 after serving for five years. She first became a member of the Association in September 1992. Anna is a vastly experienced board member who helped found Castlemilk East Co-op. Anna is a committed community activist who has worked hard towards the wider social and economic regeneration of Castlemilk. Anna's work is widely recognised throughout the housing sector:- Anna is also the Chair of Cassiltoun Trust and a Board Member of Cassiltoun Stables Nursery.

Barbara Dusik

Barbara joined the Board in August 2019 as a co-optee member and after the AGM in September 2020 became a full Board Member. Barbara has graduated from the University of Glasgow with a BSc in Geography. She is a tenant of the Association and an active volunteer, assisting at many of our community events. She is passionate about the local community.

Chris O'Brien

Chris was elected on to the Board of Management at the AGM in August 2019. He has a Postgraduate Diploma in Housing and a BA (Honours) in Social Sciences. He has worked in the housing sector for 10 years and is currently working in a Housing Association as a Customer Services Officer. He is interested in all aspects of Housing Association Management and Governance and wishes to develop his skills further.

Clair Malpas - CEO

Clair became Chief Executive on the 1st April 2019. She has worked at Cassiltoun since 2007 and became part of the SMT in 2013. Her early career was as a professional in the field of Welfare Rights. She set up and delivered Welfare Rights services for a number of Housing Association's across Scotland and is well known in the sector for her work on Welfare Reform mitigation. She is a leading expert in the field of Community Regeneration and since 2010 has had responsibility for delivering Cassiltoun's highly regarded Regeneration and Social Enterprise programme, which has attracted over £2 million in external funding and delivered a range of diverse and award winning projects as well as attracting visitors from across the globe. Clair has an ILM in Leadership and Management, a BA (Hons) in Economics from Lancaster University and a MPhil in Social Welfare Law from Leicester University. She is also a qualified Prince 2 practitioner, trained to deliver Social Returns on Investment (SROI) and a well known speaker at sector wide conferences.

Clare MacLean

Clare MacLean joined the Senior Leadership Team in May 2022 as a result of a staff structure review. Clare joined Cassiltoun Housing Association as a Housing Officer in 2009, as a direct result of our growth after stock transfer. However, Clare originally joined the Cassiltoun Group in 2004 with the local housing organisation based at Cassiltoun Housing Association's office. Clare's is responsible for leading, supporting and developing the Housing (Services) and Advice staff team effectively by communicating the Association's key objectives and targets. She has 37 years' experience in housing operating mainly in Housing Services with most of her career within the Castlemilk Community.

Faye Mitchell

Faye was co-opted onto the Board of Management on 29th March 2023 and was then elected as a Board member at the AGM on 14th August 2023. Faye has over 10 years housing experience. She has held various roles including modern apprentice, housing assistant, rent accounts officer, welfare reform officer and housing officer. Faye holds a post graduate degree in housing studies which she obtained from Stirling University. Faye is passionate about various aspects of housing operations. She looks forward to working with the Association to help improve the lives of our tenants.

Fiona McGowan - COO

Fiona McGowan became the Director of Operations in April 2013. She joined the Senior Leadership Team as Head of Operations in 2009, as a direct result of our growth after stock transfer. Fiona however originally joined the Cassiltoun Group in 2004 with the local housing organisation based at Cassiltoun Housing Association's office. Fiona is responsible for housing services, performance management, compliance and policy. She is a vastly experienced senior officer with over 40 years service in housing and holds a Diploma in Housing Studies from Stirling University. Fiona also holds an ILM SCQF Level 9 Certificate in Leadership and Management.

Gayle Fitzpatrick

Gayle was co-opted onto the Board of Management on 29th March 2023 and was then elected as a Board member at the AGM on 14th August 2023. Gayle has a degree and postgraduate in History from the University of Glasgow. Her specialist studies focused on social housing in Glasgow, in particular the housing schemes built after the Second World War, and the power of tenant participation. After graduating in 2001, Gayle worked in housing and has experience in newbuild programmes. She was also involved in decants, demolitions, kitchens and bathrooms programmes. After her time in housing, Gayle moved to local government where she spent 16 years working in policy, performance and strategy roles. Gayle currently holds the title of Corporate Governance Manager within the public sector. Gayle will bring experience in governance, data protection and records management.

Harry Mills

Harry was elected on to the Board of Management at the AGM on 14th August 2023. Harry has been living in Castlemilk since 2005. He is a joiner to trade starting his apprenticeship back in 1981. Harry project managed an £8 million refurbishment programme of a Stately Home in the Borders. Since moving to Glasgow in 2002, Harry has been involved in various projects within housing including reactive and planned repairs. Harry will bring experience from being involved in housing projects for over 20 years.

Jennifer McInnes

Jennifer was elected to join the Board of Management in August 2022 Jennifer has a honours degree in Business Management from Glasgow Caledonian University. She has specialist experience working within the third sector where she has run her own social enterprises and also worked in the childcare sector in Business Development. Jennifer will bring her experience of implementing and monitoring successful business strategies. Jennifer has achieved an ILM award in Leadership and is also in the process of completing a project management qualification. Currently Jennifer works as a Business Manager for a UK new homes and construction company where she will be able to bring her knowledge of the sector and the challenges it faces.

Julie McNeil

Julie was elected as Vice Chairperson at the Board of Management meeting on 28th February 2024. Julie joined the Board in October 2016 as a co-optee and following the AGM in August 2017 is now a full board member. Julie first became involved with the Association when she joined the tenants Estate Action Group to help improve the local environment. As a local resident of 30 years, Julie wanted to give something back to her community and by joining the Board has provided the opportunity to do so.

Paula Brownlie

Paula joined Cassiltoun in 2011 and is responsible for human resources, governance support, Board and staff training and supports the CEO to ensure that the Association remains compliant. She joined the Senior Leadership Team in April 2013 as a result of a staff structure review. Paula has 28 years experience in the Housing Association sector operating mainly in HR and Corporate Services. Prior to this, Paula worked for 7 years with the Northern Ireland Housing Executive. Paula holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management from Caledonian University. In March 2014, Paula successfully achieved the CIPFA : Certificate in Corporate Governance with Distinction. Paula also holds an ILM SCQF Level 9 Certificate in Leadership and Management.

Ryan Davidson

Ryan was co-opted onto the Board of Management on 29th March 2023. Ryan has 6 years previous experience working in the housing sector as a Community Liaison Officer, developing and delivering a wide range of community projects and initiatives. He currently works in the renewable energy sector but maintains an interest in social housing and the role of social landlords in the communities they serve.

Teresa McGowan

Teresa joined the Board of Cassiltoun (previously Castlemilk East Housing Co-operative) in 1996. She stepped down and rejoined the Board in September 2008. Teresa cares passionately about the local environment and property maintenance. Teresa previously worked as a dental nurse for 13 years and was in the Territorial Army for 10 years. Teresa remains committed to the community controlled housing movement and believes that tenants views must be heard.
